Ericsson top of Vendor Matrix

Ericsson top of Vendor Matrix

August 1, 2016

The Matrix is a analytical tool to assess vendors, and was created by ABI research in an effort to create a public perception of vendors position in the market, innovation and implementation of business structuring, design and production are taken into account among other things to assess the winners.

Ericsson has topped the latest Vendor Matrix, which is of course released by ABI research, meaning it doesn’t move an inch, as it also topped the Matrix in the last release.

Ericsson were not alone of course, with Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens Networks, hot on their heels in second and third place, showing that worldwide IP Multimedia Subsystems vendors are upping their game considerably to meet the current demand to high quality standards.

Alcatel-Lucent were most definitely the most impressive out of the three, rising four positions from it’s last matrix rank of just #6, and Nokia, like Ericsson, held it’s previous position.

Analysts suggested that Ericsson led the overall rankings due to the company’s commercial activity, which boasts around 50 IMS contracts, where similar competitors only possess 30, or even fewer in some cases.

The major growth in contracts maybe something to do with $4.8 billion in their research and development sector, which saw a major boost in business and the companies future prospects for 2015.
